It’s official, Alba's application was chosen to represent Italy in Paris. The letter of support from the Italian National Commission for UNESCO says:
"Alba is an unique center of gastronomic excellence. The analysis of the elements contained in the Application Form highlights the central role assumed by Creativity, able to decline the natural agricultural vocation of this territory into a cultural leverage that acts positively for the purpose of individual and collective wealth and happiness, favoring economic and social growth (...) Therefore, seen the quality and value of the submitted application, this National Commission is pleased to support in a particularly convinced way Alba Proposal to become UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy" so writes the CNI President Franco Bernabé to the Mayor Maurizio Marello.
Alba is therefore the only candidate chosen to represent Italian Gastronomy (others Applications were chosen but in others creative sectors), second after Parma, already in the circuit since 2015.
Today the Dossier was sent to Paris; at the end of October the verdict.
